Applied Logistics Announces Funding for
RFID Asset Tracking Opportunities Rebrands to New Name Fluensee
ENGLEWOOD, Colo. - May 30, 2006 -
Applied Logistics, Inc. today announced the completion of Series
A financing led by IllinoisVENTURES. The funds will be used to capture
a greater share of the rapidly growing market for RFID-enabled applications
which track and manage the physical movement of assets and inventory.
Applied Logistics also announced that it will
be operating under a new name, Fluensee, in support of the company’s
strategy to extend beyond its current transportation and logistics
industry focus. Fluensee will expand into additional markets that
are faced with a growing need to gain improved control and visibility
over their assets.
“Companies today are faced with increased
pressure to reconcile physical assets with corporate financial records,”
said Tim Harvie, Fluensee president and chief executive officer.
“Fluensee is uniquely positioned to help its customers realize
the value of RFID by gaining better visibility, control, security
and utilization of their physical assets.”
“Fluensee’s unique combination of
proven software solutions, an experienced management team, a strong
partner network and extensive hands-on knowledge of RFID complements
our existing technology portfolio,” said Rob Schultz, senior
director of IllinoisVENTURES. “We are excited to be involved
in the growth of Fluensee and the potential opportunity for them
to leverage our existing portfolio of strong technology innovators.”
“Our strong partnerships with IllinoisVENTURES
and leading technology and service providers such as Sun Microsystems
will allow Fluensee to accelerate sales growth and expand our already
substantial intellectual capital,” said Tim Harvie, president
and chief executive officer of Fluensee. “We believe real-world
experience coupled with our access to the R&D capabilities of
the University of Illinois creates the foundation for establishing
Fluensee as the leader in applying RFID technology to asset-intensive
business processes.”
